The world continues to grieve the unexpected demise of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, which came on the heels of fashion designer Kate Spade's passing. Both have tragically taken their own lives, once again pushing to the forefront the issue of mental health. Locally, celebrities turned to social media to send messages of hope.
Anne Curtis tweeted, "Depression is real and we never know what people might be going through every day. Be kind. Take time to talk. Ask how your friends are... It just might make a difference."

Bianca Gonzalez reminded her followers to be kind to one another.

Ryza Cenon paid tribute to those who have taken their lives due to depression and other mental issues. She wrote, "When you’re depressed you don’t control your thoughts, your thoughts control you. I wish people would understand this. Because this is not a joke."
In a separate post, she opened up about her personal struggle. She began, "Sa mga taong hindi naiintindihan ang depression. Para sa inyo madaling sabihin na 'bakit hindi ka humingi ng tulong sa iba?' 'Inom mo yan tapos itulog mo lang ok ka na.' 'Magdasal ka' and etc...
"Hindi po ganun kadali sa amin na nakakaranas ng depression ang magsalita at mag-share ng nararamdaman... Sakit siya na on and off na minsan akala mo ok ka na pero babalik sya ulit."
Ryza underlined the value of looking out for one another, "Kaya maging sensitive tayo sa mga tao nasa paligid natin... Sa simple pangangamusta makakatulong ka."
