Over the past week, celebrities have been doing all that they could to aid relief and rescue operations in areas devastated by typhoon Yolanda, and Angel Locsin is one of them. Aside from donating money to the Philippine Red Cross, the Kapamilya star has also been helping volunteers re-pack relief goods, reports PEP.ph.
“Lahat ng ito, utang natin sa tao (We owe all of this to the people),” Angel was quoted as saying in the November 11 episode of Kris TV. “So, ano ba naman 'yung mag-share tayo, kahit papa'no, kung ano man 'yung naitulong nila sa akin (So, how hard it is to share and give back the help they have given me?)?”
She rallies everyone to give their own donations. “Ngayon, ang kailangan talaga, ready-to-eat food, kumot, banig, tubig (Now what they really need are ready-to-eat food, blankets, banig, and water.).”
This is by no means Angel's first time to help out the less fortunate. Back in August, during the height of the monsoon rains, she waded through the flood to help the Philippine Red Cross in their relief operations.
In a separate article on PEP.ph, Top Gear Philippines editor-in-chief Vernon Sarne also claims that Angel is the owner of the vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle that is currently being auctioned off with the proceeds going to the victims of typhoon Yolanda. Although the actress has yet to confirm this, Sarne says he and the team put two and two together. “We used to adore her for her smile, but now—if the auction of the Chevelle pushes through for the Yolanda victims—we're swooning fans for life,” he wrote in topgear.com.ph.
