Aljur Abrenica believes he can still be friends with his estranged wife, Kylie Padilla, after all the controversy that hounded their split.
Aljur said he watched Kylie's interview on GMA-7's Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) and said it served as a reminder of the good relationship he had with his ex-partner.
"After kong mapanood... Actually, ang ganda nga, eh. Habang pinapanood ko siya, ang mga naalala ko yung mga magagandang pinagsamahan namin," Aljur said in an interview with entertainment host Jobert Sucaldito.
The KMJS interview gave the floor to Kylie after Aljur alluded in a Facebook post that she was the one who cheated first. Aljur admitted later on that the now-deleted post was done "out of impulse," and he was not proud of his actions.
Aljur also echoed Kylie's sentiment about a mutual feeling of unhappiness in the relationship, which eventually led to their breakup.
However, Aljur said this does not discredit the friendship and the good memories they shared during their 10-year relationship. When Jobert asked Aljur the most unforgettable memory he had with Kylie, Aljur said it would be those times when he cared for his then-pregnant wife, among others.
"Isa 'yun sa pinakamasaya ko rin, kasi 'yung pagsilbihan 'yung asawa ko noon eh masaya na rin ako non."
Aljur recalled taking a break from work during Kylie's pregnancy with their first child, Alas. "'Di talaga ako nagtrabaho ng nine months. Araw-araw ko siyang kasama, inalalayan ko...Binantayan ko talaga. Ang dami kong magagandang memories sa family ko."
Now, Aljur says she remains in contact with Kylie to co-parent their two children, Alas and Axl. "Sa kabila lahat ng mga nangyayaring ito, constant pa rin communication namin lalo na yung tungkol sa mga bata."
Aljur ends rift with Kylie
"Okay na kami eh," this is how Aljur describes his relationship with Kylie despite controversies and rumors about their falling out and encourages the public to move on as well from the issue.
"Instead of judging others, let's just remember the good things and see to it na yung pagmamahal mo and appreciation mo sa tao. Kasi tao lang tayo."
He also expressed confidence that one day, he could rebuild his friendship with Kylie.
"Kung titingnan niyo sa sampung taon na pagkakakilala namin ni Kylie... Magkaibigan talaga kami. I think sa 10 years, I know she knows this. We're best friends. Kasi isa't-isa yung takbuhan namin."
