In addition to the protection order comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas filed against her estranged husband Jed Salang, whom she left after enduring an abusive marriage that lasted for only around a month, PEP.ph reports that she is also suing him for violating Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children act.

According to the petition, Jed would ask for expensive items like signature glasses, shoes, and clothes in addition to the P40,000 allowance he received from her every month since the start of their relationship. Jed’s purchases during their trips abroad—whether they were for himself, his child, his family, or his past girlfriends—were also charged to Ai-Ai’s credit card. Jed had also reportedly opposed Ai-Ai’s decision to get a pre-nuptial agreement, but he wasn’t able to do anything to change her mind.

The petition also stated that Ai-Ai was diagnosed with “acute post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)” due to the abuse she had endured during their relationship, such as the instance when Jed allegedly spat on her face after her concert last February. She tried to leave him then, but Jed refused to go, and he attempted to make up for it by marrying her in Las Vegas last April.

However, the two got into a big fight only a day after their wedding, with Jed trying to smother Ai-Ai with a pillow in their hotel room. Ai-Ai then tried to escape, but Jed then threatened to stab himself and to jump out of the building in response. He later banged his new wife’s head against the wall, only stopping when she promised that she will kowtow to his every whim. Ai-Ai eventually left Jed on May 2.

PEP.ph has tried to contact Jed to get his side of the story, but they were unable to get in touch with him.
