Love Story

What could be sweeter than marrying your first love?

Tracy and Marko grew up with each other. Having more than a decade of relationship as foundation, their love blossomed into something sweeter and greater over the years. Tracy shares, "We met when I was still 14 years old, and he was 16. I was the typical one-of-the-boys kind of girl, and we became close friends instantly. We would stay up late at night just to talk about anything. We grew [romantic] feelings for each other after a year of friendship."

It was a day before their 10th year anniversary that Marko proposed to Tracy in a traditional yet romantic way. They visited a church together in Davao and while they were there, he got down on one knee and popped the question. Without hesitation or second thoughts, Tracy gave him a sweet yes.

Wedding Preparations

Tracy and Marko had an intimate wedding ceremony in a rustic church in Davao. Ivory and purple were the couple's chosen colors for the festivity, and quirky pieces in these shades complemented the overall laidback feel of the occasion.

The bride and her mom did most of the styling for the event. They fitted the venue with one-of-a-kind DIY items and decor. Tracy shares, "The sweet love corner was a collaboration of my mom and I. My mom bought all of the big cocktail glasses and candies in the States, and we filled them with sweet treats. For the match, I bought a beautifully printed paper and wrapped it around the match box. I then attached some of the excess flowers from the favors."

The blissful wedding went by smoothly and breezily as planned. The bride and the groom danced to romantic songs that speak of love. While the celebration went by so fast, the bride shares, "You should cherish every moment and learn to appreciate everything. Let go of any problems during the day, and simply smile. Say a little prayer to God, and thank him for everything."
