Shella and Brent met in 2009 at a friend's party in Hong Kong. "After our first meeting, Brent admitted that he can't seem to get me out of his mind. Coincidentally, when Brent tried to contact me, I was in Manila for a short trip. He finally decided to pursue me, so he asked me out," shares Shella.
According to Shella, although Brent's proposal was a blooper, it was still romantic. Shella relays, "Brent was acting weird that whole week. He sent me flowers everyday and said that it was because of the approaching Valentine's Day. So come Valentine's Day, he proposed to me in a karaoke Room in Hong Kong. It was funny because while I was singing my heart out, I saw in my peripheral view that he was taking the ring out of his backpack."
Shella and Brent's dreamy city wedding featured details in aqua and coral. The modern affair was laced with quirky details, such as stuffed toys and miniature cable cars, which channeled the couple's personalities.
The beautiful styling of the venue added a romantic charm to Shella and Brent's laid-back affair. Among the notable elements was the wedding cake, which reflected an important chapter in their dating life. Shella shares, "Our cake had a cable car theme. My husband loves cable cars, and it also paved the way for our first meeting. It's a five-layer cake with a lighted layer adorned with crystals and beads." Aside from featuring pretty details, the couple's wedding also had a fun and lively vibe because of surprise song numbers.
Shella tells other marrying brides to, "Don't be stressed by the little details. Just trust your suppliers and savor every moment of your special day. One week before the wedding, relax and pamper yourself. You want to make sure you look your best on your big day."
