Richelle and Dondon met through a social networking site. The two had common contacts, and Richelle initiated the exchange of online messages. She and Dondon soon met and became friends--eventually, Dondon started courting her. Romance blossomed between Richelle and Dondon.
Seven years into the relationship, Dondon prepared a special surprise for Richelle. When she got home from work one day, she went straight to her room--there, she found a large pink teddy bear with a heart-shaped pillow. Upon closer inspection, she found a small box under the stuffed toy. She immediately opened the box, and inside was an engagement ring and a small piece of paper with a note from Dondon, asking Richelle to marry him.
When Dondon finally came out of his hiding place, he slipped the ring on Richelle's finger. He again popped the question to Richelle--and she said yes.
Richelle and Dondon opted for a celebration that featured timeless details. Their wedding was laced with elements in jewel colors, making for a classy event.
The bride admits that she couldn't take on a lot of do-it-yourself projects, but she did what she could to add personal touches to their wedding. Among her mini projects were the bejeweled napkin holders and the wrapping for the souvenirs. Another way that the couple personalized their wedding was incorporating elements from the Middle East, where Dondon works.
The couple and their guests enjoyed a short and organized program. Richelle and Dondon had only one audio-visual presentation and one game. They wanted to spend more time with their guests, and so they did away with some parts of the usual program.
In the end, the couple had their dream wedding, and they learned some things along the way. "Research so that you can have so many choices. There are lots of suppliers out there who are not yet known in the wedding industry, but their products or services are at par with those famous ones. Know exactly what you want in your wedding so that you will not be fickle-minded and be easily swayed into making impromptu decisions that you will regret later on. Trust your suppliers--they know what they are doing," the bride shares.
