Born and raised in the land of the rising sun, Reika was initially inclined to have a Japanese themed-wedding. However, she and Ron weren't too eager to wear multi-layered kimonos in the summer heat. As a compromise, they decided on an East Meets West theme.
The bride's Japanese roots were highlighted through the various wedding details. The couple chose pink and brown as their motif to highlight the beauty of the Japanese sakura or cherry blossoms. Japanese lanterns were also used to decorate and illuminate the reception venue. The flower girls--and even Reika's dog--wore yukatas during the wedding.
To balance out the Eastern details, the couple asked guests to come in formal garb--ladies wore floor-length dresses while the gentlemen donned suits and tuxedos. With the harmonious mix of cultures in their wedding, Reika and Ron showed how love can bring together the best of both worlds.
