Love Story

Rachelle and Ron were classmates in high school, but they weren't immediately at ease with one another as Ron would always play pranks on. However, as time went on, they eventually got along and developed a friendship that led to romance.

As they grew older, the two started deciding on the details of their wedding even before there was a formal proposal."Details like having a garden wedding and other wedding-related issues usually peppered our conversations then. [So we thought with our situation,] a proposal was no longer necessary," Rachelle shares. Ron, however, saw things differently. "[The proposal] took place in early 2010, just right after the Phuket trip with our friends. There was no bending-on-one's-knee-and-popping-the-will-you-marry-me-question [moment]. Instead, there was just a nod--a silent agreement when the ring was shown," the bride reveals.

Wedding Preparations

High school sweethearts Rachelle and Ron had a whimsical wedding marked with posh and elegant details laced with quirky travel accents. Set in the fairytale-like venue, Fernwood Gardens, the couple's ceremony and reception were surrounded with the enchanting romantic ambiance that they wanted.

The bride reveals that the groom was as hands-on as she was during the planning stage. Ron attended all meetings with their coordinator, and even had a say on the design of the bride's gown. The groom also made their wishing tree, which perfectly complemented their whimsical theme.

As much as the Rachelle and Ron enjoyed seeing their dream wedding unfold before their very eyes, the guests also enjoyed the celebration with an exciting program. Instead of the usual garter and bouquet toss, the couple had a Cinderella game where the single guy guests would look for the pair of their female partner's shoe. "The missing shoe was previously hidden all over the place by the coordinators. [The game] proved to be such a feat, as the venue is quite huge and there were just too many hurdles like the existence of the pond within the venue--among other things. The winners' effort didn't go to waste as they took home a 10 megapixel Olympus camera each as reward," the bride fondly shares.
