To say that Ben's proposal to Mannel was unusual is an understatement. While his elaborate plan started at an engagement-related shop, Tiffany & Co., Ben's treasure hunt proposal took Mannel by surprise.
Mannel and Ben made plans to meet at the jewelry store, but Ben didn't shop up. At Tiffany's, the shop attendant gave Mannel an envelope with a clue that led her to a Manolo Blahnik boutique. There, Mannel received another clue guiding her to the atelier where she had her gown made--and where yet another clue waited for her.
As she headed outside, a cab was waiting for Mannel, and the driver--who was also in on the plan--took her to Mannel and Ben's first apartment. The clue at the gate told Mannel to head to their favorite restaurant. Mannel found of their best friends there, and she thought that Ben would show up soon--however, all she got was a clue that told her to head home.
When she did, Mannel found a clue on the door. A trail of white rose petals led her to the backyard, where a table laden with flowers, champagne glasses, a Tiffany box, and another clue. Mannel opened the box, and instead of finding a ring, she found a quote from Sex and the City's Mr Big: "That's why you need a diamond to seal the deal." As Mannel read the last clue, Ben came up behind her to finally propose.
Mannel and Ben are based abroad, and so it was extra challenging for them to plan their wedding. However, with the help of their planner, the couple was able to pull off a beautiful celebration.
The couple's wedding, which they peppered with classy details, was a modern and elegant affair. The bride shares that as they progressed with preparing for the big day, they realized that some unexpected expenses would pop up. Mannel shares a tip for other couples: "There are always last-minute expenses, so make sure to have some extra money for those just-in-case moments."
Making sure that every element of their wedding day was perfect wasn't an easy task, but Mannel knew to let stress go. "Enjoy every minute of your day as it goes by so very fast," she says.
