For some people, the unexpected things turn out for the best--Karen and Jasper's relationship is a perfect example of this. The two met in college when they belonged to the same organization. They were but acquaintances at the time, so it was a surprise that they got together after running into each other abroad 10 years later.
Karen was then about to pursue residency training in Chicago, and Jasper was an Internal Medicine resident in New York. He visited her several times in Chicago, and their relationship flourished until they officially became a couple. The couple then pursued a long-distance relationship.
On their third anniversary, Jasper took Karen to dinner at one of New York's most romantic restaurants. While they had a lovely time at the restaurant, it was their ride home that made their night perfect. In their rented limousine, Jasper surprised Karen with a proposal, which she accepted.
Karen and Jasper tied the knot with an oriental-themed wedding. Their union was a true testament of how the most unexpected things in life--like their love--can also be the most gratifying.
