Five years ago, Julie and Glen traveled to Singapore for work. "We met in 2009, while working in the same industry. One of our common friends introduced us during a party, and that's how we started talking," relays Julie.
Julie and Glen took their friendship to new heights on a trip to Malaysia. During their holiday vacation, the two finally admitted their feelings for each other, and officially became a couple.
One year later, Glen proposed to Julie on Valentine's Day. Two years later, on their third year anniversary, Glen proposed again while the two were out on a romantic dinner.
Julie and Glen's wedding was everything they dreamt it to be--and more. Despite being overseas during the preparations, they were able to incorporate all the details they wanted with the help of their coordinator.
To channel their personalities, the two prepared several DIY projects. Julie shares, "Among my projects were the gift tags for the souvenirs, the wish cards, the banners, and our invitations. I also customized my shoes by adding white flowers and putting the words 'I do' on the soles."
According to Julie, planning a wedding overseas wasn't as difficult as she expected. With the help of wedding websites, she was able to find and book suppliers online. She shares, "[In preparation for the wedding,] I read articles and visited wedding websites like Bridalbook.ph for inspiration. So I suggest that other marrying couples to do the same and be hands-on with the preparations for their big day. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event, and they should enjoy every moment of it, including the preparation stage."
