Love Story
Jescel and Jay met in the cyber world--Jay sent a message to Jescel through Friendster, which started everything between them. "Modesty aside, I do receive a lot of friendly messages from guys I don't know and never had I bothered to reply let alone check their profile. With Jay, it was like I heard a voice telling me to consider," recalls Jescel. When she did check his profile, she found that they shared the same Christian faith and was very much committed to his faith as much as Jescel was to hers. This gave Jescel enough reason to reply and eventually meet Jay in person as they were both based in Dubai then. "We clicked, as we shared a lot of common interests and perspectives especially our faith," shares Jescel.
With their strong bond, it didn't take a while for Jay to decide to ask for Jescel's hand in marriage. On the night before their first anniversary as a couple, Jay took Jescel to Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is the tallest building in the world. "At the top of the building, with people of different nationalities my sister looking, he took out a small box from his pocket, showed me the ring and asked me to be his wife," Jescel fondly recalls. After overcoming the initial shock, Jescel ecstatically said the sweetest yes.
