Jeanna sparked Patrick's interest when he saw a photo of her in one of the Facebook albums of his brother, Lee. Upon seeing Jeanna, Patrick found her cute, and asked Lee about her. Patrick learned that Jeanna was the younger sister of Lee's friend. Later on, Lee's wife, Tina, told Jeanna that Patrick found her cute. Upon checking Facebook, Jeanna also found Patrick attractive.
The two finally met at the birthday party of Lee and Tina's son. Jeanna and Patrick didn't get to talk much, but after a month, Jeanna took the initiative to add Patrick in Facebook. They started a thread of conversations, found out they had a lot in common, and soon went out on their first date--things took off from there.
After a year of being a couple, Patrick asked Jeanna's family for her hand in marriage, and the family gave Patrick their blessing. On the afternoon of the couple's first anniversary, Patrick surprised Jeanna with dinner at The Top of the Citi. Jeanna found Patrick with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, and as she approached him, he bent down on one knee to deliver a heartwarming speech before he popped the question. Taken by surprise, Jeanna managed to squeal and nod to signal yes.
Jeanna and Patrick wanted a wedding that featured breathtaking details. While the couple was very particular about making all the details elegant, they knew that taking on DIY projects would allow them to save on their wedding budget.
The couple devoted time months before the wedding to finishing their DIY projects. Jeanna and Patrick added warmth to their reception by incorporating beribboned crystals, napkin rings, and place cards, which they did themselves.
As Jeanna and Patrick planned their dreamy celebration, the two learned how to handle stress well. "How you handle the stress and go through your to-do list as a couple will determine how well you work together. Determine your strengths and weaknesses, and take a divide-and-conquer approach to planning your wedding," shares the bride. The two's teamwork showed in the wondrous wedding they pulled off. Jeanna adds, "It's easy to be overwhelmed if you don't have help and support from your groom. Be sure to listen to what your fiancé has in mind, and take those ideas to heart. After all, it's his wedding too."
