Grace and Man met through their common friend a few years ago. Since both of them were single at that time, their friends would often tease them to go on dates just to see if they'd be good together. To be closer to Grace, Norman would often consult Grace about his episodes of vertigo, even though his parents were both professional doctors. As time passed, their conversations began to grow longer, and they learned more about each other.
One time, when Grace went to church with her family, she saw Norman praying, and was moved by what she saw--that's when she knew that what they had was special. Although Grace had to be in Manila to pursue a medical career and Man had to stay in Laguna to take care of his business, they still made an effort to see each other every weekend.
On one of Man's visits to Grace in Manila, he popped the question. Grace shares, "It was Friday the 13th when Norman decided to propose. He did not give the ring until 12:00 midnight because he thought it might be a bad omen to propose on such an unlucky day. When the clock struck 12, he knelt down on one knee and asked me to be his wife."
Grace and Man had a simple yet elegant destination celebration, which was attended by their friends and family. A beautiful sea of pink set a romantic mood at the festive gathering in Tagaytay. Vintage-inspired items such as lamps, bird cages, and flower vases were used as decor for the reception. Moreover, quaint pieces in the wedding's motif accentuated the modern feel of the event.
Among the couple's DIY projects were the souvenirs. Since they call each other "Gummy Bear," they handed out bear-shaped tin cans with small gummy bear treats inside.
According to the bride, planning a wedding is both exciting and challenging. She shares that having an inventory and a budget helped them manage their expenses and be in control of the wedding preparation. She adds that attending bridal fairs and performing her own research helped her finalize the details of the wedding. Lastly, she says, "Couples should take note of who they transact with. Referrals from friends and your own research can really help in the preparation period. And as a golden rule, always settle for the reputable suppliers."
