A lot of wedding proposals happen in a romantic setting--maybe over a candlelit dinner, while watching the sunset at the beach, or during an out-of-town trip for two. Paul's proposal to Elaine, however, wasn't that sort.
Elaine and Paul met in a Yahoo! Messenger chatroom for Filipinos based in Dubai. They finally met in person when Paul invited Elaine out for coffee at a nearby mall. The two became friends and soon after, a couple.
The proposal came much later, after the couple had decided to cool things off for a while. It had been a month since they had seen each other, and they decided to smooth out things in their relationship. They talked things over, and at the end of the conversation, Paul asked Elaine if she would allow him to spend the rest of his life with her, through good and bad. Elaine gladly accepted.
Elaine and Paul tied the knot with a teal wedding in Tagaytay. And while Paul's proposal was a most unusual one, that didn't mean that they loved each other any less.
