Cheska and Jamie's story is a classic example of boy-meets-girl. They first saw each other in a local pub, where they stared at each other the whole night--however, both were too shy to approach the other. Jamie ended up asking his friend to ask Cheska's sister for Cheska's number. "[There] was a lot of passing-the-message, but the last message was a text I received from Jamie that night asking for a date!" Cheska fondly recalls. That text message opened doors for the two, and in time, they became a couple. The inseparable couple's relationship eventually led to the altar.
One afternoon before Christmas, Cheska asked Jamie what he wanted to receive. Jamie suddenly went down on one knee and said: "I want you. I would like to celebrate Christmas with you for the rest of my life, would you be my wife?" Cheska, of course, granted Jamie's Christmas wish.
Cheska and Jamie marked their Cebu wedding with a harmonious fusion of their respective roots. Both Filipino and English details laced different elements in the wedding--from the attire right up to their yellow Beetle bridal car. Among the remarkable details were the place cards at the reception, which featured a quirky illustration by the bride's sister. The drawing was of a half London bus and half jeepney.
The couple also took advantage of their scenic venue in creating a dreamy ambiance for their vintage seaside-themed wedding. After exchanging I do's at a modern pyramid-like pavilion, Cheska and Jamie then treated their guests to a warm and fun-filled beachfront reception. The couple and their guests enjoyed a night of singing and dancing.
With the success of their destination wedding, Cheska and Jamie are both grateful to the bride's Cebu-based family, who helped plan the wedding while the couple were in London. They are also thankful of the packages they availed, which made some tasks easier for them. "We nearly went over our budget, so it is always handy to set money aside just in case there are additional expenses you forgot [about]," Cheska adds.
