Constant prodding and teasing from friends pushed Camyl and Ryan to take a shot at love. Ryan was a member of the band called Narda, where Camyl's friend was recruited as vocalist. Camyl would constantly watch their gigs, and after one party, her friends started setting her up with Ryan as he had apparently told them that he liked her. Her friends' tactics to bring them together were all too obvious for her, but she just went with the flow until she and Ryan officially became an item.
Ryan popped the question without saying a word. After purchasing a condo together, the couple proceeded to Ryan's restobar in Katipunan to celebrate over dinner. Ryan offered to get cocktails, and when he got back to their table carrying both their drinks, he proposed silently. Camyl shares, "Without a word, he handed me mine. A glint of light caught my eye, and then I gasped: a diamond ring was hanging from the stirrer! He didn't ask anything, he didn't propose, which I totally totally dig because, if he had, I would have laughed. And we took the ring and he put it on my finger. And I cried and giggled and felt love. It was a wordless proposal, but it went down in history as one of the most wonderful nights in our lives."
Set on a sunshiny summer day, Camyl and Ryan's outdoor picnic wedding was fun, laidback and heartwarming. Guests wore comfortable outfits that went well with the perfect weather. The ladies were garbed in colorful Sunday dresses while the gentlemen looked cool and comfy in white polo shirts and khaki pants.
The couple's wedding décor was also unfussy but charming. From the bouquets to the decor, the wedding a refreshing and rustic garden air with its details. To give the outdoor affair a fun and relaxed ambiance, banig mats, throw pillows, toys and outdoor games were spread out at the quadrangle. Fun and quirky wedding favors, like plastic balloons and blow-bubble bottles that were also made available to guests.
As they enjoyed the perfect weather, playful atmosphere, and good food, the guests were also able to sing and dance their hearts out--the groom and his band played live music in the background until the sun went down. The groom even performed a special number, The Cure's Lovecats, which he had sung for the bride on her 21st birthday. When night fell, the couple and their closest friends proceeded to a restobar for the after-party, and they celebrated their love for good music and good company.
