While most proposals involve a romantic speech, Claudine and Raymond's engagement was the opposite. Raymond popped the question in the most unexpected moment.
The bride narrates, "We got into a very huge fight, so he was trying to persuade me to forgive him. Then to my surprise, his apology came with a very serious, 'Will you marry me?' of course I had to say 'Yes!'" After the intimate proposal, Raymond's family conducted a traditional pamamanihikan to make their engagement official.
Claudine and Raymond's wedding featured details that celebrated their roots. The couple's Filipiniana-themed affair became unique because they added rustic DIY elements to their reception. "I wrote welcome greetings for our guests by using a customized chalk board. Also, I decorated our reception tables with fresh flowers and recycled bottles for a complete rustic feel," the bride narrates.
According to the bride, she and her groom enjoyed planning the wedding together. The preparation stages brought them closer, as they got to know each other more. The bride also tells other marrying couples, "Craft DIY materials if your budget is tight, it's a good way to make your wedding different but also one of a kind."
