Choosing your wedding color palette may be one of the major decisions you'll make for your big day--after all, your motif will dictate the look of your wedding details. Inspiration for your motif can be drawn from anything around you, and if you want a palette that's a treat to the senses, you can choose colors that will tickle your palate.

Below are just some food-inspired color combinations that will surely look yummy on your wedding.

Coffee & Milk

The decadent espresso and sweet milk is just irresistible, and you can easily pull off a country-chic wedding with these earthy colors. To create a warm atmosphere on your wedding, try using wooden accents or organic materials like burlap. Contrast the browns with white or beige linens or flowers and play with rich textures. If you wish to go along with the coffee theme, you can even give away roasted coffee beans in little burlap sacks as souvenirs.

Wine & Cheese (Red & Rustic Gold)

This combination can be reminiscent of a vacation to an Italian vineyard, and these colors conjure images of the countryside. To keep an interesting contrast, choose one bold and one toned down hue. Deep reds paired with rustic tones can create an inviting atmosphere. The same palette can also channel glamor--think of using red rose centerpieces, gold charger plates and gold tiffany chairs at the reception.

Tangerine & Peach (Orange & Peach)

Using spring colors can set a fun and vibrant feel for your wedding, and the combination of orange and peach channel a dreamy vibe. These colors will work well with either outdoor or indoor weddings, as the palette will brighten up any space. Think of using orange fruit centerpieces, craft details like vellum candles, painted vintage bottles or paper garlands for that whimsical reception setting.

Key Lime Pie (Green, White & Yellow)

This light and fresh pairing is perfect for a cool and laidback wedding. Lime green, white, and soft yellow is one calming palette. For a chill reception, hang white Japanese lanterns to light up your venue, and create tropical centerpieces with lime santini mums or cymbidium orchids. For escort cards, you can cut the top off of lime (just enough to see the inside of the fruit) and stick white or yellow flowers with small name tags on top of the fruit. If you want to have yellow as the accent color, sunflowers are a great inspiration to start with.

Eggplant & Artichoke (Purple & Green)

Vegetables can be good inspiration for your color palette, especially if you're having an outdoor wedding. Eggplants and artichokes can also be great table centerpieces if you wish to create an enticing yet unusual set-up. Giveaways can be as simple as young artichokes or echeverias placed in a nice little glass jars tucked and labeled with a handwritten gift tag. You can even have a bridal bouquet made of artichokes and purple thistles.
