A unique tale unfolds in every wedding, and it is up to the videographers to tell the day's story in moving pictures. The team behind Wang Videography, with its brand of cinematic videos, allows the couple's personalities to make each story unforgettable.

Wang Videography started as the video department of Imagine Nation Photography, and in 2009, the company was established as a separate group to allow the team to grow. The team stayed grounded despite the rise of their company. "We used the name Wang in honor of the "King of Kings"--Jesus whom we serve, because wang is the Chinese name for 'king,'" shares John Mateos Ong.

Wang Videography's videographers have now grown in their craft. They prefer to shoot candid videos in order to capture genuine emotions from the couple and their guests. "We're very discreet, and we only direct when it's needed," says John. He adds, "If given the chance, we'd like to do SDEs (same-day-edit videos) that are not chronological--you won't expect what's going to be shown. At the same time, we maintain the story line."

To hone their skills, the team does a lot of research and gets mentorship from friends in the industry. "We get inspiration from everything we can get our hands on. We also push ourselves by teaching each other--every Thursday is our learning day--and we commit to talk and teach each other something new. Also, being a sister company of Imagine Nation helps. Photography and videography have so much in common, and yet are totally different disciplines," John says.

The team collaborates with their clients to make sure that the output is what the couple had in mind. John narrates, "There are times when we meet with the couple to manage expectations. Video is an art, and what may be good for us might not be what they want. So at the end of the day, we want to please our couples. If they are not happy, then we are not happy."

The Wang Videography team also goes beyond their call of duty as videographers. Shares John, "The most notable thing is that we pray for every single couple we shoot, and then our shooters discuss positioning and the type of shots we expect. Our inspiration comes from desire to honor God in everything we do. We're just so thankful that we can serve God and do what we love doing at the same time--it is such a great privilege to be able to do this." With their humble and gracious outlook, Wang Videography comes up with memorable videos that they've poured their heart into.
