Tagaytay holds a special place in a lot of people's hearts. For some, these Tagaytay tourist spots in the province of Cavite offer a welcome respite from the fast-paced life in Manila. For others, it is a city teeming with dining options that are perfect for a culinary adventure. And for some couples, the city is where the road to forever begins.
Tagaytay has become a silent witness to many lovers who have said, "I do." This city, known for its temperate weather, fresh air, and overlooking views, has become one of the preferred wedding destinations in the Philippines. If you are tying the knot anytime soon, here are some of the best places in Tagaytay where you can hold that momentous, once-in-a-lifetime occasion in your life.
1. Tagaytay Highlands
With picturesque mountains and azure skies providing a stunning natural background, Tagaytay Highlands is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Tagaytay. There are two churches within the property: the Holy Family Chapel at The Highlands and the Madre de Dios Chapel at The Midlands. Garden weddings are also possible at The Midlands Lawn or at The Country Club Trellis Deck. In 2014, Tagaytay Highlands was the venue of the wedding of celebrity couple Gab Valenciano and Tricia Centenera.
2. Antonio’s Tagaytay
Antonio’s is more than just offering exquisite gastronomical masterpieces in Tagaytay; it is also one of the favorite wedding destinations in the city. In 2014, entrepreneur Eric Dee Jr. and model Bea Soriano (one of “It” girls alongside Georgina Wilson, Isabelle Daza, and Solenn Heussaff) had their dreamy garden wedding at Antonio’s, and the whole place was designed to look as homey, quaint, and rustic as possible. Like Bea and Eric, you can also have your own garden wedding at the Garden Greens venue of the restaurant, which is a space reserved specifically for al fresco events, especially during the fairer seasons of the year. On top of that are the delicious culinary creations of Chef Tony Boy Escalante himself for reception.
3. The Hills
The Hills at Silang is a multi-purpose events venue and residences, which is also perfect for garden-themed weddings. The San Antonio de Padua Church is only less than two kilometers away, so you can also choose to have the church wedding first and the garden reception at The Hills afterwards.
Though Caleruega is located in Batangas, this popular wedding destination is situated less than two kilometers away from Tagaytay, so you can still say you’re in two places at once (and pretend you're Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember). Caleruega is where you’ll find the Chapel of Transfiguration, said to be the most popular wedding chapel in the area. With its iconic red brick façade, surrounding greeneries, and peace and tranquility permeating the entire place, Caleruega is definitely one ideal spot to say your vows.
5. Hacienda Isabella
This sprawling property located in Indang, Cavite, just a couple of kilometers away from the heart of Tagaytay, is owned by legendary Filipino songstress, Kuh Ledesma. Though the structure looks modern on the outside, the interiors are decked with traditional wooden furniture and fixtures that will make you feel as if you are transported back in the Spanish era. Such is Hacienda Isabella’s charm, making it a unique wedding venue, especially for themed or garden weddings. Singers Yeng Constantino, Kitchie Nadal, and in-demand host and lifestyle blogger Patty Laurel have been enamored by Hacienda Isabella’s charms and had their weddings hosted there.
