What's your office pest personality?

Are you the office loudmouth, a slacker, the "feeling-close” fraternizer, or the resident workaholic? Find out with this quiz! By Myra Mortega-Calulo

badworker_quiz_inside.jpgSpending at least eight hours a day confined to an office cubicle can drive anyone bonkers. Add to that an annoying coworker, and you have the makings of workplace hell. We all know of at least one colleague who's a workaholic, a loudmouth, a slacker, or someone who thinks she's everyone's friend. But are you guilty of being one of these people yourself? Find out what your office pest personality is by taking this quiz!

1 .) What’s your officewear staple?
  1. Nothing in particular. I just grab whatever’s available since I’m always running late for work.
  2. Anything with loud colors or attention-grabbing prints.
  3. A power suit worn with five-inch high heels.
  4. Whatever’s uso in the office. Last month, everyone was into stripes, so I did a wardrobe overhaul to fit in.
2 .) The boss is on leave for the day. What do you do while the cat is away?
  1. Catch up on my latest koreanovela addiction. Thank goodness for external hard disk drives.
  2. Dish out the latest chika about the office newbie.
  3. Continue working on my tasks like nothing has happened.
  4. Give my two cents’ worth to a colleague who seems to be having love problems.
3 .) You wake up one morning and feel like taking a leave from work. What reason do you tell your boss?
  1. I tell the truth--I feel a little sick. Of course, he doesn’t have to know that it’s from all the partying I did last night.
  2. A really bad case of tonsillitis. Everybody knows I couldn’t function well without talking.
  3. Me, ditch work? Never! I’ll finish that urgent report even with an IV drip strapped to my arm.
  4. I succumbed to the office virus that’s been circulating for quite some time.
4 .) It’s pay day! What’s the first thing you do with your hard-earned cash?
  1. Get a massage at the luxury spa everyone’s been talking about.
  2. Pay my phone bill. Keeping tabs on everyone can be costly.
  3. Buy a killer outfit for my next big presentation.
  4. Get a birthday gift for a colleague.
5 .) Your colleague gets a promotion. How do you react?
  1. Just shrug it off. I don’t care much about promotions.
  2. I start making the rounds to find out why she got promoted when she was hired only recently.
  3. Get annoyed it's not me, then hunker down and focus on making sure the next step up is mine.
  4. Get close to her as soon as possible. Looks like I have a new BFF.
6 .) You get to work and find a memo on your desk. What does it say?
  1. It's a warning for being late. Again.
  2. That I’m too loud or something.
  3. They’re concerned because I’ve clocked in too much overtime work.
  4. I’m being warned for loitering.
7 .) You’ve spotted a new office hottie. How do you get his attention?
  1. “Accidentally” bump into as we’re heading to the pantry.
  2. Easy--I’ll tell him a funny joke.
  3. I’ll ask him out. I’m not a go-getter for nothing.
  4. I’ll take his route on the way home, so we can always go sabay after work.
8 .) Which of these cringe-worthy office situations has happened to you?
  1. I was late for a meeting and made everyone wait for three hours.
  2. I accidentally spilled the beans about a coworker during lunch.
  3. I typed up a memo to remind my team about their tasks for the week and sent it to the big boss by mistake.
  4. I got too friendly too soon with my boss.
9 .) You've got half an hour before your workday is finally over. What are you doing?
  1. I’m gathering all my things, ready to leave.
  2. I’m making my rounds for the day’s last-minute gossip.
  3. I’m starting on the things I have to do for the next day.
  4. Sending a text to friends from other departments about the concert we’re going to after work.
10 .) Your team has just been given a big assignment. What task does your boss give to you?
  1. Take down the minutes of every meeting. It’s a simple but necessary task.
  2. Getting the inside scoop on the client from the previous people they’ve worked with so we can anticipate their needs.
  3. Planning the course of action for the whole team. He knows how meticulous I can be.
  4. He lets me handle the PR. My boss knows I can charm anyone.
