Sure, you have the annual office Kris Kringle which is meant to lessen expenses for everyone because you're all focused on giving gifts to just one monito or monita. Yet these days, it's quite customary for people to give little tokens of appreciation to each of their colleagues. To make sure you do not spend more than necessary on gifts for your officemates (especially if you have a big department), these tips may help.

1. Buy sweets in bulk. Bite-size chocolates that come in bulk can solve the problem if you're part of a big group. Busybodies can never resist small snacks to nibble on, especially when they're bound to their desks all day. You can even make candy loot bags if you buy packs of assorted candy. Not a fan of candy? You can also buy big boxes of brownies or even bibingka.
2. Bake. If you have more time in the kitchen during the weekend or nights after work, why not whip up a batch of cupcakes or brownies for your officemates? They will surely appreciate something homemade because it has a personal touch.
3. Give something useful. If you think giving office accessories is tacky, think again. Gift shops and book stores are stocked with cute desk accessories that make good, inexpensive gifts, such as stress balls, colorful wood magnets, jelly wrist rests, cute paper clips, and tape holders. Not only are these functional, they also make good decorations for your colleagues' cubicles.
4. Recycle, but be selective. Should you have no choice but to resort to recycling gifts, be sure you pick items that are unused, intact, and not custom-made for you. There's nothing more offensive than receiving a gift that's obviously not meant for a person. So be careful about giving away items from your own loot, especially if you don't want your colleague to make the office a living hell for you!
