The truth about Hooters Girls
Jul 9, 2009 by FN's Shar Bareng
Recently, an unnamed woman wrote in Lemondrop.com that being a waitress was difficult—and even more so if you were a Hooters Girl like she is now. While she admits to being tipped well for her job, she reveals that Hooters Girls are subject to bizarre policies set by the restaurant and unwanted attention from rude customers.
While they're usually written off as "ditzy, slutty bimbos," the former Hooters Girl begs to differ. "We show less skin than the typical high school student. Also, the vast majority [of] Hooters Girls are intelligent college students or working professionals," she reveals.
Still, there are perks. Aside from generous tips, the Hooters Girl loves that her job entails less of such mundane chores as washing dishes or mopping floors, and more of just "entertaining customers, sitting and chatting with your tables and prancing around looking pretty."
And while dealing with rude customers is part of their daily grind, Hooters Girls are grateful for several dependable regulars—mostly gentlemen who, as the blogger puts it, "offset (our) most horrid customers and prevent us from becoming too jaded against men."
So has your own perception of Hooters Girls (or sexy waitresses in general) changed after reading one waitress' revelations? Let us know when you comment.
