News watch: Peso all-time low, air-powered cars, inflation all-time high

Jul 7, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

* How close are we to getting air-powered cars as a solution to the rising gas prices?

* The peso reached its all time low in the last 10 months' surge against the dollar last Friday, plummeting to P45.50 on top of soaring gas and other commodity prices.

* There's hope for the majority of poor Filipinos to finally have access to quality medicines with the cheap drugs bill, but a debate in Congress is threatening to slow its progress into a law.

* While the peso reached its all time low in the last 10 months, inflation hits its highest in 14 years.

* And even the United States isn't spared of economic lows, as more US employers are experiencing their longest job loss streak since 2002.
