News roundup: More adjustments to economic recession

debtcredit.jpg* European firms operating in the Philippines cut their number of working days in an effort to avoid layoffs.

* The World Wide Fund for Nature, Department of Energy, and Green Army Philippines Network called out for another Earth Hour on March 28. Lights will go off from 8:30PM to 9:30PM in key cities in the Philippines and all over the world.

* Germany will grant the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) P182.5 million to help them develop strategies for coping with climate change.

* Since the beginning of the economic recession in the United States, fewer Americans have been quitting their jobs as layoffs and discharges increased.

* Krispy Kreme, Sbarro, and Chrysler are just some of the 15 companies predicted to file for bankruptcy in the United States this year.
