Why would you consider leaving your current job for a new one? For some of you, switching jobs is the answer to today’s economic realities. A scarcity of opportunities in your current field may force you to look at prospects in more lucrative areas. For others, it is the chance to escape a work life you are unhappy with.

Technology, distance learning, and short-term courses offer the means to acquire new skills in ways that may not have been possible before. But a career change is a major decision, something that can’t be made overnight or on impulse. Think long and hard about these five points before you make that leap.
