Hi everyone! I'd like to ask for a suggestion, I've been working in a family corp for 8 years, i'm actually , one of the niece of the owner, right now we do have a personal issues, it really hurts me a lot and I felt that it ruin my life., and I want out and want a career change. My problem is we dont have a specific Job Title in the company, since we are relatives, more or less we all part of the management. i don't know what would I put in my resume and if ever during the interview of course they're going to ask why would I leave my current job, should I say the real reason or can you suggest a better answer. Thanks in advance.

It would depend on what your responsibilities are, try to assess under what kind of field most of your responsibilities fall under. Also, if your resume is more on the functional side, you can also put a more general description of maybe Manager, but organize your responsibilities into categories so it would be easier to understand. Try going through the article on how to create a resume.

Re your 2nd question. I would advise to be truthful. But being honest doesn't mean you have to tell everything, stick to professional concerns (i.e. career change). Naturally, your interviewer might want to probe further on other reasons for wanting to leave, and it may be difficult since it seems there seems to be personal and emotional issues you're currently dealing with, but keep it brief and keep to professional topics. There is also an article here about common interview questions, you can also research other potential questions on the internet, and practice answering them. Maybe get a friend to pose as an interviewer, and record it so you can go back to it, and see where else you can improve.

at mishy, separate your personal problem from work thats my first advise. i know its hard to control emotion especially with us girls, emotions always pushes us, and it sucks right? what we need is to push our emotion before it ruin the situation. even you work for family corporation you still have your boss or superior, talk to him regarding your position in that company, dont be shy or be afraid. blood is blood remember that. lastly, try to fix the problem dont run from it!!!! love :)
