One of the sure-fire ways to save money is to pack lunch for working days. It's easy to scrounge for leftovers at home, and you can always check your pantry for ingredients you'll need. If your office pantry has a microwave oven, re-heating your lunch won’t be a problem either.
We searched for some easy, low-cost lunch you could prepare yourself. Associated Content.com offers some recipes that don’t require chefs to whip it out for you.
My personal favorite is Kitchencow.com, a cute bento (Japanese lunch box) site run by a Filipina, Kaoko, who comes up with her own recipes and shows her cute lunch box creations. Just looking at her photos of bento already makes me hungry--the best part is, there are so many things you can do with them: from creating simple dishes like rice with chorizo de bilbao and egg salad, to rehashing leftovers from restaurants, and more!
If your friends want their packed lunch yet don't have time to cook, you can offer to make lunch for them for a small fee. That way, you earn from the extra food you whip up and save money you could have spent on expensive restaurant food. How’s that for a sure-fire buck saver?
