Health tip: Eat a banana before you swim

Apr 4, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

tips-bananas.jpgOur parents always tell us never to eat before we take a dip, but just in case you get hungry before swimming, it's best to eat a banana. After all, you need all the energy from the carbohydrates. Plus, the potassium in bananas packs a lot of muscle power that you'll definitely need for the legwork, whether you're competing or swimming just for fun!

  • Amphitrite

I was a competitive swimmer back in my high school and college days, our coach would often tell us to eat banana everyday and specially during our competition days. Supposedly it helps our muscles become more relaxed and lessen the chances of getting cramps.
