When we're weight-conscious, we sometimes commit some weight loss mistakes: either because our fitness program is not fit for what we need to lose, or we acquire faulty fitness beliefs over the years. Yahoo! Health listed basic weight loss mistakes of which most of us are unconsciously guilty. Which of these apply to you?1. Sleeping less
Not only does it make you look haggard or tired, but studies also showed that getting only four to seven hours of sleep in six nights straight raises your glucose levels.
2. Eating too much processed food
It’s scary enough to think what kind of fattening additives go into junk food and canned goods. Go for real home-cooked food and make sure to get some fiber from fruits and vegetables.
3. Drinking sugary drinks
It’s true that your body loses some nutrients when you work out, which is why you might prefer drinking energy drinks. However, some energy and several juice drinks contain a lot of sugar. Try to drink more water instead as it can help eliminate body toxins and aid in digestion.
4. Eating too fast
Chewing food slowly helps your body digest it easier, thus minimizing your capacity for eating too much. Tip: Try eating with chopsticks, as the effort of picking up rice can help lessen the appeal of loading up on grains.
5. Starving yourself
The body adapts itself to lack of food and nutrients by storing every calorie it gets. So if you want to really shed those calories, provide yourself with the right nutrients and forget about the myth of staying thin by not eating.
