Body of Work

Sep 21, 2009

Let’s face it—unless you’re a superhuman supermodel with round-the-clock access to a celebrity trainer, the human body is a tough act to manage. The figure morphs, weight yo-yos—and as the years slide by, it doesn’t get any easier. That’s why a regular fitness routine is crucial to a woman’s health, not only to keep up appearances, but more importantly to address health concerns that inevitably arise in the various stages of life. Whether you are in your 20s, 30s, 40, or 50s, getting in shape now will do wonders for your physical condition—reducing your future encounters with heart disease, osteoporosis, and even breast cancer!

Women’s Health magazine addresses these concerns in their September issue with their article, “A Body For the Ages.” Here are some of the workout tips they recommend to combat the specific challenges of your age.

Sep 20, 2009

UPDATE: Due to Supertyphoon Pepeng, Avon Walk events in Manila, Malolos, Vigan, and Legaspi have been moved to November 8, 2009. Avon Walk events in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, and Iloilo will push through as scheduled.

Breast cancer is a silent killer that has stricken many of us close to home. With the Philippines having the highest incidence rate of the disease in Asia, it’s only natural that we Filipinos take the necessary measures to fight the disease—or as Avon puts it, “walk all over it.”

Help raise awareness about breast cancer by joining “We Walk as One—Avon Walk Around the World for Breast Cancer,” on October 4, 2009, which will be held simultaneously in seven key cities all over the country. The event will take place in Manila (SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds), Cagayan de Oro (Avon CDO Branch), Cebu (Acon Cebu Branch), Legaspi (Avon Legaspi Branch), Malolos (Bulacan Provincial Capitol), Vigan (Plaza Burgos), and Iloilo (SM Iloilo).
