Power dressing looks difficult to achieve, but with a bit of resourcefulness and creativity, you can soon breeze through work in style and maybe even clinch the job you aspire for, and not just what you already have.Even though more workplaces are becoming more liberal and casual toward office attire, Kathy Ireland of kathyireland.com says it's still important to own business attire pieces since these can be tools to get ahead in the corporate ladder. Furthermore, power dressing can give you a boost of confidence and a sense of power and authority, since your body language can be dictated by the clothes you wear. "If you are in an elegant, tailored suit, you're probably more likely to stand up straighter, look people in the eye, and offer a firm handshake than if you are in jeans and a t-shirt," Kathy said.
Kathy advises on some basic pieces for your "power wardrobe." Check them out in the gallery below.

The jeans in the first picture and the weekend skirt in the second one cannot are not work appropriate. At least not until casual Friday.

i believe, it's not jeans or denims. those are black slacks which can be paired with any formal blouse topped with a blazer. Same with the skirt, pair it with a nice top and color coordinated pumps and you're ready for the office. the modern workplace is already filled with style and sense of fashion. no more all-black-everyday get-ups.
