Which is worse: getting bullied or being sexually harassed?

Bullying doesn't end in high school--even adults go through it in the workplace. The disturbing thing is that it appears to be more traumatizing than sexual harassment, according to a new study in Canada.

According to the study, bullying often includes excessive criticism, yelling, repeated reminders of employees' mistakes, spreading gossip and lies, ignoring or excluding workers, and insulting personal habits, attitudes or private life.

Pick your dream glamorous job

Most of us have our own ideas of the glamorous job: Perhaps we envision being a Miranda Priestly-like figure who is constantly being wooed by the top fashion designers, or reaching many destinations by being a flight attendant, or even heading a task force team and literally kicking ass in crime scenes.

But does glamorous equate to higher pay? For those of us who don't know that much, we might be even surprised to learn that the jobs we thought to be on top of the glamorous heap actually don't pay that much. Salary.com conducted a survey that measured the most glamorous jobs not only through their "oomph" appeal, but also the actual salaries that these supposed glamorous jobs are entitled to. Hence, the survey was divided into two results: one showing jobs with the impression and the actual salary both getting top marks, and the other showing jobs with high impressions yet low salaries. And guess which real glamorous job topped the ranking?

Career debate: long term vs. short term jobs

handshake.jpgMost of us still hold to our parents' advice to stay put in jobs for a year at the very least. While some bosses and human resource personnel think that skipping jobs are forgivable, realistically speaking, long-term jobs look better on a resume as opposed to five different jobs lasting a month each, even if you say you've gained a lot of experience from those five companies.
