How old were you when you moved out?

In the Philippines, it's not exactly shameful to live in your parents' house even after you've graduated and joined the work force. The event of young men and women getting their own place once they turn 18 isn't as common here as it is in countries like the United States, although what's common here, perhaps, are kids leaving their home in the province to live in dormitories when they go to college in the city.

A few years into your career, you might have considered or have already moved out for convenience, especially with the rise of condominiums near workplaces like the Makati Central Business District (CBD) or the Ortigas Business District. Some, however, opt to stay with the family in spite of independence being within reach. After all, living with one's parents doesn't mean that one is useless and dependent; in fact, children often end up contributing to household expenses once they've started earning.
