Can color reflect your career choices?

Aug 25, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

We're pretty sure most of you take online tests for fun, but have you tried taking a curious test that reflects career choices you've made (or are about to make)? Color Career Counselor has a free personality test which claims to tell how compatible you are to your job based on your selection of colors.

The test requires you to choose from five groups of colors, all of which can affect the prescribed ideal for you. After selecting colors, you need to answer questions about your current job, the amount of time you've spent on your current career, and, interestingly, how much you like your job now.

A programmer from our team tried the quiz, but fell off the mark when she got her results. According to the test, she was best placed in the Occupational category, particularly in a job as a social manager. Of course, programmers work as a team most of the time, but she was expecting something that was closer to her preference for technical work. Then again, we can’t expect color preferences to reflect career choices accurately for all, though the test might work for some.

Have you tried the color test? How close are your results to your actual career choice?
