Wrap your gifts the eco way

Dec 19, 2008 by FN Blogger Kissa Castañeda

We shouldn't judge a gift by its wrapper, but admittedly, the cover does count.

This Christmas, make a statement by using a unique and eco-friendly wrapper, like the furoshiki. This traditional Japanese wrapping cloth is once again making waves because of its funky designs and the fact that it's reusable.

Young Japanese are reverting to this method of wrapping as a small way of joining the green revolution, transforming the furoshiki from something old to en vogue.

Plus, gift-wrapping becomes even more fun! Like origami, there are various ways to wrap gifts depending on shape. So before you grab that sheet of wrapping paper, consider this alternative. Not only is it stylish, it's a small gift for Mother Earth as well.
