The Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) issued an announcement saying that starting January 15, 2011, the new flag-down rate for taxis nationwide will now P40, P10 higher than the current flag-down rate. In the same announcement reported on Philstar.com, apart from the new flag-down rate, commuters will have to pay P3.50 for each succeeding 300 meters.
In addition to this, new toll fees will also be imposed for motorists using the North Luzon Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, and Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway.
While the government is looking into a gradual implementation of these price hikes, these increases still come as unwelcome surprises to motorists and commuters everywhere.
FN Wants to know what you think about these two price increases about to take place. Do you think that the new toll fees and taxi fare hikes are fair?
