5 Tips for Protecting Yourself against Carnappers

Carnapping incidents are on the rise. Stay safe with these car security tips. By Myra Mortega-Calulo
The recent news of gruesome crimes allegedly linked to carnapping has everyone thinking twice about car security. Just last week, restaurateur Gaita Fores’s car was taken from her driver at gunpoint. But while not all victims of carjackings are quite so prominent, this is hardly an unheard of story. Alarmingly, carjacking incidents have been on the rise since last year, when frequent Starex thefts were reported by the media, one such theft involving an attack on Luli Arroyo’s brother-in-law. 

In light of these events, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has put up a carjacking/carnapping prevention page to guide the public on how to lower their risks of being victims of this crime. From the information posted on the PNP website, FN gives you five tips to protect yourself against carnappers.
