A Portrait of the Artist as a Filipino
Considered the most important Filipino play in English, Nick Joaquin's play tells the tale of Don Lorenzo's two daughters, Candida and Paula Lorenzo, to whom Don Lorenzo has given the portrait, and the many different forces that want the painting. Jose Mari Avellana directs some of the finest actors on Philippine stage, including theater veterans Irma Adlawan and Ana Abad Santos.

I Love You Because
Opening on the week of Valentine's Day, I Love You Because is a modern-day musical re-telling of Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice with the genders reversed.

The Fantasticks
One of longest running and well-loved shows in American theater, The Fantasticks is a timeless story of growing up and facing the cruelty of the real world and, in the process, finding that love is waiting in your own backyard.

Jack and the Beanstalk
For children's theater this year, Rep presents a new twist on the old "Jack and the Beanstalk" pantomime story.

Sweeney Todd
Rep will end 2009 with a bang as it stages the brutal tale of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Anticipated as the biggest musical event of the year, this dark tale will chill and thrill audiences come November.
