Thoughtful treats for your wedding guests

Jun 29, 2009 by FN's Cheekie Albay

marthastewartweddings_march.jpgIf you’re getting married soon, you know that your wedding guests will be buying new outfits, having their hair and makeup done, taking a leave from work that day, and braving the traffic to your far-flung wedding destination just to witness your special day. So it’s only fitting that you show your invitees some thoughtfulness, for them to feel how much you value their presence.

The Philippine edition of Martha Stewart Weddings offers ideas on how to shower your wedding guests with extra attention.
  • If you’re having an outdoor wedding, give your guests some protection. Provide parasols guests can use to shield themselves from the sun. If it’s an evening ceremony, lend them shawls to keep them warm.
  • Keep the young ones occupied. A reception tends to be dragging, especially for a five-year-old flower girl or ring bearer. A cute idea is to set up a dessert table especially for the little ones, where they can dress up frosted cupcakes with toppings and sprinkles.
  • Don’t forget to thank your guests. Be sure to send thank-you cards to your guests to show your appreciation. Share your wedding memories by including a collage of your wedding photos in the card.
