Indie poster girl Zooey Deschanel knows how to work it in Hollywood yet still retain her cool. So cool, in fact, that hoards of people view her as Hollywood's resident culture vulture.
Why so? Let's start with her distinct look: she has an endearing vintage-inspired style that goes well with her signature full fringe hairstyle. Then there's also her participation in unconventional films, the latest being Matt Aselton's Gigantic, which debuted in this year's Toronto Film Festival.
If her approach to fashion and film is not enough to convince you that Zooey is indeed a different breed of star, there's her voice. She is one half of the duo called She and Him whose music is light, refreshing and yet full of wit. If you're looking for a truly iconoclastic star, Zooey may be it.
