Shoe-lovers: step into this museum

Oct 24, 2008 by FN Blogger Kissa Castañeda

bata_sign.jpgCANADA - If you consider yourself a shoe fetishist, then a trip to this museum might push that addiction further.

The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto is a building dedicated to shoes. Its permanent exhibit called "All About Shoes" shows footwear's historical 4,500-year journey from a functional item to a work of art. The exhibit also touches on each culture's interpretation of beautiful footwear.

Apart from the educational perspective it gives, the museum also has celebrity pairs on display. There's the ballet shoe worn by dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov's (known to us as Aleksandr Petrovsky in Sex and the City) and Roger Federer's Nike rubber shoes.

If you're the typical Filipina who adores footwear, be sure to include one of the world's most unique art spaces in your itinerary.
