How green is this iPod Nano?

Apr 19, 2009 by FN's Shar Bareng

green_nano.jpgThis slick iPod Nano comes in vibrant green, among other cool colors, but did you know that it's significantly green in another way, too?

The iPod Nano is supposedly the most environment-friendly Apple product in the market now. In response to consumers' call for greener products, CEO Steven Jobs started a program for Apple that entailed reduced use of lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, and PVCs.

The result? The latest Nanos use arsenic-free glass and a design devoid of brominated flame retardant (BFR), mercury, and PVC. Its aluminum enclosure is highly recyclable, too.

So if you're considering getting a new music player, why not go green all the way with this iPod Nano?
