Events roundup: Romancing the arts this month

* Get a taste of romance in true Parisian style at the screening of Paris, Je T'aime (Paris, I Love You) tomorrow, February 4, 8:30PM, at Alliance Française de Manille in Makati City. Paris, Je T'aime is a two-hour film consisting of 18 short films by 21 directors. The film stars French actors Gérard Depardieu, Juliette Binoche, Gaspard Ulliel, American actors Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Elijah Wood, and Steve Buscemi, among others.

* Today is the deadline of reservation for those interested to join Filipinas Heritage Library's workshop, "Writing Online." Get pointers on writing for the Web and learn how to use blogs, forums, e-mail, and search engines to your advantage. Call Jen Bascoguin or Anne Alim at 892-1801. The workshop begins on February 9.

* In keeping with the season of romance, Instituto Cervantes de Manila offers a film cycle which depicts the relationship between food and love. Love month at Instituto begins on February 6, 7:30PM, with Namets, a Filipino independent film about two Negrense chefs who grew up in Bacolod and whose lives revolve around food. 

* Celebrate the opening of the new Water Dragon Gallery at Yuchengco Museum with an exhibit of prints by the Philippine Association of Printmakers. Nature-inspired jewelry and home decor by Davao designer Ann Tiukinhoy Pamintuan will also be featured. Gallery hours are 10AM to 6PM, Monday to Saturday. * Witness Ballet Philippines' CCP Dance Gala, featuring the best in folkloric, classical, and contemporary dance at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater). This is a rare opportunity to see leading dancers of Ballet Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theater, Ballet Manila, and Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group perform together. You can go to the Gala Night on February 6 at 8PM, or the performances on February 7 and 8 at 3PM.
