  • If you want mom to feel like a foxy young woman again, bring her with you to Cosmo Youniverse at the TriNoma Activity Center on May 16, 12NN onwards. Here, Cosmo girls (and their moms!) will get to live the Cosmo life by posing a la Cosmo cover girl and creating Cosmo cocktails. You can also indulge your kikay side by learning how to care for your hair, face, and body. Prettify your nails with nail art, get a henna tattoo, and sit through a tarot-card reading, among others. Mom can get fun and fearless again at Cosmo Youniverse!

  • Women, regardless of age, have an ongoing love affair with shoes, that’s why we think mom would enjoy visiting the exhibit “Portraits de Chaussures, Histoires de Pieds (Portraits of Shoes, Stories of Feet),” which runs until June 20 at the Yuchengco Museum at RCBC Plaza, Makati. The exhibit, brought to you by Alliance Française de Manille and the French Embassy in the Philippines, boasts of 62 pairs of shoes from the 18th to the 21st centuries. Complementing them are works by contemporary artists in the form of drawings, photographs, videos, and installations. For more information, call Alliance Française at 895-7585 or 895-7441 or e-mail sabrina@alliance.ph.

  • Working moms will enjoy a respite from work with Today at Breakfast. On May 12, from 7AM to 11AM, 2nd Avenue and Orbit Chewing Gum will bring The Today Show to Enterprise Center in Makati. Career women can watch the show, enjoy free breakfast, and get valuable pointers on fundamentals of office fashion. The Golden Girl of Jazz, Olivia, will be singing sweet melodies to soothe the tired urbanite’s soul.

  • Engage mom in conversation about revolutionary views on womanhood by checking out Katwo Puertollano’s art exhibit “Provocateur,” on display at Pablo Gallery in Cubao X until May 14. Katwo combines sexed up feminine imagery and well-loved Disney characters, and juxtaposes them with wry slogans to create a collection that is novel, disturbing, thought-provoking, and cute-all at the same time.

  • Celebrating Mother’s Day on a budget? Dine at Pizza Hut and try their Super Panalo value meals. At only P99 you can enjoy solo meals that consist of pizza, soup, and drink; pasta, salad, and drink; or rice meal, soup, and drink. Choose from four pizza flavors (Hawaiian, Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon & Cheese, and 3-Cheese), three types of baked pasta (Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara, and 3-Cheese Macaroni), and three filling rice meals (Meatballs & Mushrooms, Roast Chicken, and BBQ Chicken Fillet).
