Il Pirata (Italian restaurant)

Il Pirata takes its pirate theme to the hilt, with exteriors and interiors adorned with skull-and-crossbones decor, ornately gilded furnishings, Old English lettering, treasure chests, and pirate figures standing guard by the entrance.
Il Pirata has specials not on the menu that are available upon request, one of which is the yummy Tortellacci al Funghi (P285), a ravioli dish with assorted mushrooms, potatoes, parmesan, and special mushroom sauce. These specials take a while to prepare, so if you’re hungry, you might want to order an appetizer first. Try Gnocco Fritto (P295), which is Italian Fried Bread topped with tasty Parma Ham.
Big groups will enjoy Pizza del Pirata, which you can order in regular size (P395), half meter (P600), and one meter (P1,200). Pizza del Pirata is laden with tomatoes, four kinds of cheese, spicy salami, and Italian sausage. With the half-meter pizza, you get three toppings of your choice, and with the one-meter pizza, six toppings.
An adorable feature of Il Pirata is the “ship” docked outside the main restaurant, which has been the setting of various special occasions, including marriage proposals. Even if you’re nowhere near getting hitched, you can still reserve the ship for you and up to 30 friends for P10,000. For more information, call (02) 421-1994.
