Beyond Twilight: 30 Young Adult Reads for Tweens, Teens, and Teens at Heart

Summer may mean temporarily saying goodbye to school books, but that doesn’t mean you (or your teens and tweens) have to forgo reading altogether. In fact, summer is the best time to catch up on reading the books that have been neglected over the past few months. Whether faced with long days of doing nothing at home or going off on a solo getaway or vacation with your friends, be sure to pick one or two (or more!) from our list of 30 young adult reads for the summer.

I give The Perks of Being a Wallflower a big thumbs up. It's short, simply written, but it makes you think. A lot. Plus, it's a good source for book recommendations.

Excellent list! I'm curious about the ones that I haven't read, especially the contemporary titles. I second the recommendations for fantasy reads that are on my favorites list like The Thief, Ella Enchanted and Graceling. Some of the other titles in this list that I really enjoyed reading last year are Going Too Far and The Sky is Everwhere, Mistwood, Brightly Woven, Suitte Scarlett, White Cat. :)

I wonder why you didn't include Anna and the French Kiss in this pile? :P

    Happy reading, everyone!

Thanks for these recommendations - I've already read some of these but it's always nice to have more titles to add to my to-read list. I went through a Sarah Dessen phase, and my favorite was The Truth About Forever.

I agree with Chachic - Anna and the French Kiss was really good.
