Apple unveils the iPhone 3G

Jun 14, 2008 by FN's Chrissy Icamina

iphone_3G.jpgIt won't be a surprise if Apple's website's hits have quadrupled in the past few days, as the Internet is abuzz with the unveiling of the new iPhone: the iPhone 3G.

Last June 9, Apple head honcho Steve Jobs finally revealed the immensely popular iPhone's second version during the Worldwide Developers Conference held at Moscone Center in San Francisco, amid a frenzy of speculations on what new Apple doodad would be launched during the said conference. One of these speculations: a 3G version of the iPhone.

The iPhone 3G isn't available yet in the US market, but according to Apple, some of its features include (aside from 3G support, of course): WiFi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPS (network dependent), video support, a 2-megapixel camera, and international language support for Asian versions (such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese), among others.
